Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Leonard asks her class...

"HOW TO COOK A TURKEY”
  These were their responses:

AYANA SIERRA:
A turkey costs about 60, 50 or 80 dollars.  You should put salt and then my mom puts pepper and then cucumber and then eggs.  Put the oven at 5064 for 15 or 16.

Fernanda Andujo:
Buy a turkey for like 40-60.  One day I went to my Tia’s to eat turkey.  To cook it put it in the oven 15-16 minutes.  It should like be hot.  Put salt and some people like pickles and to put a little sauce like ketchup.  Eat apple pie for desert.

Shanel Tolliver:
A turkey costs 340 dollars.  I cook a turkey 5 or 30 minutes.  Take it out it will look juicy, and when you poke a knife it will not be ready until you see juice.  Some people put pickles and some people have sauce to make it taste good.

                           Happy Thanksgiving!

MEET OUR STAFF

We’re going to introduce our staff . . . .highlighting one member each week.  Let’s begin with the newest first!

We happily welcome Ms. Jennifer Leonard as our Kindergarten teacher for 2010-2011.  Ms. Leonard is an experienced pre-school and first grade teacher who brings a great love of children and demonstrated teaching skills to Good Shepherd.  She and her husband have 2 daughters and live nearby in Eagle Rock.  In her spare time, Jennifer is a huge reader; loves to do arts and crafts stuff, and enjoys spending time with her family, which includes a dog, 4 cats, and 2 guinea pigs! (She mentioned that she has a lot less spare time now than she did prior to Sept. 1st! )

Ms. Leonard has taught both pre-kindergarten and first grade since 2002.  Her duties included developing curriculum as well as carrying out day-to-day classroom instruction and interaction with parents. Her former employers describe her as enthusiastic, dedicated, eager, contentious, and a team player.

Her interview committee was very impressed with her philosophy, her references, and had a great time as she shared samples of work completed by her students.  The interview committee consisted of: Pastor King, Michele Gianoli (parent representing PTF) Andrea Sierra (kindergarten parent), Jeff Stewart (Church Council member) and Pat Friar (interim principal)

Currently Ms. Leonard is enrolled at a local college taking education classes to complete her credential requirements.

Welcome to Good Shepherd School !
